Abstract

Herbal medicine is widely practiced in the Philippines. It helps n curing ailments or diseases and is much cheaper than Western medicine. It is also convenient especially for those people living in rural areas. Guyabano (Annona muricata) under family Annonaceae is widely used in traditional and alternative medicine. These properties are attributed to active components found in guyabano such as acetigenins which may contribute to its potential wound healing property. This study aims to determine the wound healing effect of guyabano (Annona muricata) pod extract as an ointment on full-thickness incision wound in mice. This study is an experimental research design that will utilize five (5) parameters specifically the wound, body score, appearance attitude, and body weight of the twenty eight (28) mice.
