The study aims to determine the seroprevalence of Toxoplasma gondii in humans in Lahug, Cebu City, Philippines. The study also aims to obtain the demographic profile of respondents such as thier age, sex, and occupation. Furthermore, exposure to animals will be determined. Existing records and/or history of medical conditions, clinical manifestations, or symptoms the respondents will be noted. They will also be evaluated for exposure to risk factors for toxoplasmosis. The presence or absence of the parasite will be determine through the antibody detection in sera. The study will be conducted using convinience sampling. At least 400 participants will be selected, and their blood samples will be collected by a licensed phlebotomist. Sera will be separated and stored in clean microcentrifudge tubes, and samples will be tested using Latex Agglutination Test, for the presence of antibodies to Toxoplasma gondii.
