Research design: The design used was the quantitative Non-experimental type of research specifically descriptive correlating the profile and the extent of the imporatnce of work values among health staff workers at Vicente Gullas Memorial Hospital. Setting: The locale chosen in the study is Vicente Gullas Memorial Medical Hospital. This is the research environment chosen as to the affinity of the researchers being nursing students affiliated at Vicente Gullas Memorial Hospital. The said hospital caters to the medical and health needs of the health staff workers. In going to the hospital one gets ride through a PUJ via Talamban, Cebu City. Particiapants: The research subjects of the study were health staff workers at Vicente Gullas Memorial Hospital. There were thirty (30) health staff workers taken as subjects in this study. Research Instrument: The research instrument used in the study was the standardized questionnaire of Pat Boer on work values. The questionnaire dealth with the extent of the importance of work values among health staff working at Vicente Gullas Memorial Hospital. It is categorized as intrinsic, extrinsic, and lifestyle values on the basis of Pat Boer work values checklist. The different values were given weights through letting the health staff workers give weighs in the degree of its importance of the values. Results: The following are the important findings of the sudy: the profile of the respondents revealed that majority of the health staff working at Vicente Gullas Memorial Hospital belonged to the age bracket of 20-35 year old (Young adulthood). Majority of the health staff workers were feamales with responses of 21 or 70%. majority of the health staff workers were singles with responses of 18 or 60%. Majority of the health staff workers are Bachelor of Science in Nursing graduates with responses of 14 or 80%. With regards to the extent of the imporatnce of the different values manifested in their work on the basis of the work values identified by Pat Boer obtained an aggregate mean of 3.75 that falls in the level of moderately important. The different extrinsic values obtained an aggregate mean of 3.55 that falls in the level of moderately important; and the different lifestyle values obtained an aggregate mean of 3.37 that falls in the level of important. Conclusion: A conclusion is drawn that work values of the health care working in Vicente Gullas Memorial Hospital falls in the level of moderately important. This means that they perceived that the importance of these values is 80% which is already a good showing. Success of promoting quality care to the patients is dependent on the emphasis of the health care workers on the importance of work values. It ensure harmonious relationship and prevent unavoidable problems such as personal grudges, bitterness, misunderstanding and different forms of conflicts. There is a need to enhance the work values among the health staff workers in order to ensure quality productivity and efficient thus contributing to quality care.
